Revamped Reading University Halls of Residence Bar (below Wessex Hall) that is open to local residents "although entry remains discretional". Ice House advertises itself is the only on-campus Cocktail Bar in the UK - selling cocktails and beer by the schooner in a fairly simple room using recycled old chairs and tables. There is a bijou cinema showing classic films during the week. Open Monday to Sunday during term time and available to hire during vacation. An unusual quirk is that no cash payments are taken - only card. 2x canned beers for £7 in June 2017.
NOTE: opening hours are term-time only
Mon-Fri: 10am-11pm
Sat-Sun: 12pm-11pm
