Steve C left this review about Ball & Boot

The Ball and Boot entrance leads to seating and a pool table that was being used by some rowdy locals on a recent Monday evening visit. The bar to the right on the rear wall faces a couple of high tables and to the right is some open plan seating and a stage that runs along the front windows. There are a couple of televisions for live sport. Only standard keg is available. This pub looks like and has the feel of an estate boozer.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sams Bar

Basic estate-type pub on the eastern edge of the town centre. Irregular in shape, which helps to break up the space a bit, as do the couple of slightly-raised areas. Plainly furnished, but there are a few local interest pictures on the walls. Dominated by a large sports TV, but there is a quieter area around the pool table and a side patio if the sun is shining. No real ale, of course, so I went for the Tetley's Mild (£2.00) before noticing the Walker's Smooth Bitter (brewed by who these days?).
