Interesting Good Beer Guide Tick - like drinking in an eclectic antique shop.

Where else can you drink real cider sat on an ancient barber shop chair.

Gravity fed beers..... hence the cider.

Worth a visit.

My fifth micropub of the day, and one that I was encouraged to visit by someone in an earlier pub, which is usually a good sign. It has been well described below: a place full to bursting with seemingly random artefacts (car radiator grills, an electric cooker pressed into service as a table, a radiogram, an ancient pin table) plus a flamingo and many semi-amusing notices and adverts. (The sign on the toilet door is probably best: Sprinkler Stop Valve Inside.) The background music was provided by Edith Piaff, with one or two customers and the owner singing along to a couple of tracks.

All drinks are listed on a blackboard behind the bar, with cask beers kept in a cool room to the left and all priced at £3 a pint. This was my pub of the day and one I would be happy to spend more time in.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Fez

Popular micro-pub / alehouse in the junk-shop decorative style so there are plenty of old adverts, knick-knacks and other ephemera to look at whilst enjoying a pint. There are no handpumps on the counter, so the ever-changing selection of real ales come from a cool-room somewhere further back. Five cask beers were available on my visit, and the Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde Dark (£3.00) was in fine condition.

An interesting curiosity shop style micropub, with lots of bric a brac and collectables fitted into every nook and cranny. I especially liked the old till positioned on the front bar counter and bits of various fairground items. Three ales, Oakham JHB, Angels and Demons Black Taxi, and Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde, which were served from a small cold room, positioned on the left handside of the bar. All the casks were priced at £3 a pint.

This is a shop based micropub that is adorned with so much bric-a-brac it rather resembles the set of Steptoe and Son. Artefacts include an old record player with a selection of old LPs that can be played on request, a barber's chair, a row of old folding seats alongside one wall and a modern double bass that seemed pristine and looked playable. There is a small serving hatch with a cold room behind. The friendly Landlord was enthusing about a Ukelele night later that day which sounded like it was going to be something between a Ukelele tuition session and a sing-song.
They had four beers on, various ciders and a few wines and soft drinks. Beers were G2 Sail Blonde, RCH PG Steam, Malt Anniversary Ale and Tonbridge Old Chestnut. I went for the Malt Anniversary and the Old Chestnut, both excellent at £3.00 a pint. I found this one to be a lot of fun and served excellent beer. It seems to be open from 12:00 daily.
