Will Larter left this review about Station Buffet

We called in as part of a crawl of heritage pubs in East Yorkshire. This one is a must do, but unfortunately the beer was in less than good condition. There are two hand pumps with just Great Newsome Pricky Back Otchan available. It was a Monday afternoon, so maybe not the busiest time of week, but it's hard to imagine this place getting busy. It was pleasant to sit here between trains and look around at all the original fittings etc, but having done it once I feel no urge to return.

Quinno _ left this review about Station Buffet

One of the few remaining original station buffets, this one is a train geeks dream with rail paraphernalia taking up almost every available bit of wall space. Two rooms inside, the old first and third class spaces. It dates from 1912 and not much has changed since then! There's plenty of dark wood and impressive Italian style polished concrete floor, the latter of which contains a long crack which the friendly old guv'nor told me was caused by a crash many years ago. I was the only customer and given its location away from the immediate centre of Bridlington, you’d struggle to see it getting busy very often. Four pumps with just one on, sadly a barely drinkable Hobgoblin. If you're in the town it's worth looking in for the curio value, but that's it. Could, with a bit of vision, be much more.

The Station Buffet is one of two remaining platform buffets serving real ale, the other is the Stalybridge Buffet bar.
This is a two roomed buffet where the marble counter serves both rooms. We went into the roadside room, where we found hot pies, Sausage rolls, sandwiches and full breakfasts.
This room had lots of tinplate signs around the walls, a collection of jugs hanging from the ceilings, a collection of old bottles and big old brass till in use. Another tradition here was you got your food and a drink and then paid when you were finished. No setting up tabs or handing in your card, pure trust.
We went for the Great Newsome Sleck Dust, pie chips and peas and a home cooked ham roll, all costing £10.60.
