Have to say definitely the best venue of this crawl in that I feel is a genuine 6 bordering 7. Physically well described below so nothing to add on that front - unlike the palm trees and exotic plants in West Penge last night and that well known South London micro climate, this was definitely a venue that bucked the trend on global warming. It was effing freezing in spite of the fact that I sat under the cover by the bar. Won’t hold that comfort factor against the venue as I thought it was lovely and I would agree one of the nicest venues of the type that I have ever visited (lots of unrecording on here on my part so it is genuinely a big sample size). Similar amounts of tap choices as recorded below and two hand pumps operational on my visit. Sad to say I took one of those cask options and so played away - was an Only With Love option (will update when I check my notes).

Their cask beer had ran out unfortunately on our Sunday afternoon visit. Nevertheless there was a choice of 8 beers served from keg taps. So we went for their Bullfinch, Rascal Session IPA and the Bullfinch Luna. Both beers were excellent.

Set in a small single railway arch with picnic table seating inside and some in the small courtyard outside, its well described by PSM below. There were only 2 cask beers on during my visit, Born to be Mild and something strangely called Peev-o, both £4.00 a pint, I had a pint of Wolf APA, one of 7 keg beers on, all priced £4.50 a pint, I missed a trick and would have gone for the 3 thirds option also £4.50. Well impressed with this place.

Situated in a railway arch opposite Brockwell Park, this is one of two enterprising local microbreweries with their own onsite bar, creating a mini craft beer scene in Herne Hill. As with the Canopy Brewery a little further down the line, the bar is in a single railway arch with a rough concrete floor and white corrugated iron cladding. A hop lined servery to the rear looks great with its illuminated 'Bullfinch' sign in front of the counter, and it handily screens the brew-plant which is presumably in the rear part of the rear of the arch. Seating is fairly limited, with garden benches making up most of the options. There is limited further seating outside in a nicely presented garden area complete with plants, which looked good on a warm summer's day. The room has fairy-lights draped across the ceiling and some nice street art-style murals which plays on the brewery's Bullfinch logo. One notable drawback, synonymous with this type of bar, was the single unisex toilet which, on an admittedly very busy day, led to the inevitable long queue.
There were six keg beers and one cask ale (Rosendale Bitter) on handpull, all detailed on the boards on the bar canopy. I decided to try a pint of the South Eastern Bloc Stout, which I noted had been presented with an award the previous day. This set me back £4.50, which is a bit steep for a beer brewed on the premises, but I have to say it was a sensational pint and I would have quite happily have stayed here and enjoyed several more if only I'd had the time.
I though this was probably the best example of this type of bar that I've encountered. I found the set-up very smartly presented, with a lot of thought going into how a railway arch can be transformed into a pleasant place to enjoy good beer. This was my first encounter with the Bullfinch Brewery and I was very impressed with what I saw. I'm sure I'll be back here soon to sample some more of their beer.
