Blue Scrumpy left this review about Market Tavern

Tucked away off the main shopping streets of Brighouse, this pub looks like a small village hall. However, it turned out to be one of the highlights of Brighouse.

Despite its compact nature, the pub still stocks a changing and varied selection of 6 real ales. On my visit, these were Durham Berry Superstitious, Goose Eye Bitter & Chinook, Neepsend Blonde, Roosters Throwback & Sunbeam New Dawn. There were also a couple of ciders from Snail's Bank, which were Orchard Dry & Mango Cider.

A group of punters were in discussing some kind of nonsense (something about vegetarians, as I recall). But it created a convivial environment in which I could consume my very enjoyable Berry Superstitious, whilst admiring the vast pumpclip collection. Well worth a visit.

Old Boots left this review about Market Tavern

A shed like building in Brighouse’s open market, one smallish square room and rather full of the friendly older demographic. Six pulls of interesting beers from all over but Yorkshire in the main on this occasion. A large collection of pump clips can be viewed outside the lavs, on the way to the outside undercover drinking area nestling next to some of the market stalls. GBG2022 listed and rightly so.

Alan Winfield left this review about Market Tavern

The Market Tavern is a small pub housed in what looks more like a scout hut,it is in Brighouse's market so i had a bit of trouble trying to find it while it was chucking it down with rain.
Once inside the pub has a small room near the entrance, the main room is still small and has a tiled floor, the seating is bench type and chairs.
There was a good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Old Mill Bitter which went down very well, the other real ales noted were Rat Mr Ratty,Elland Ichor,Salopian Shropshire Gold,Vocation Heart & Soul and one from Abbeydale.
The pub was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.
