A corner shop emulating a Belgian beer house. There is a bar counter with 8 pressure pumps, a large cage with a selection of 54 bottled beers and an industrial coffee machine on the bar. Belgian TV is showing on an old CRT TV, while the various wall decorations include an accordion, some record turntables and various other bric-a-brac. The pumps were dispensing 7 Belgian beers and one Danish ale. I plumped for a Huis Wit wheatbeer, which at 4.8% abv was ok, but too cold for my liking and rather spoilt by the presence of a slice of lemon on which I nearly choked. Not a bad place to start a crawl, and a good venue for novelty beers.

Newly-opened Belgian beer bar. Interior is a stripped-back single room (presumably converted from an old shop?). Décor of note includes tasteful black and white chequerboard flooring and a beer cage at the far end of the room. The choice of piped music was somewhat at odds with the surrounds. Eight fonts with a decent selection and plenty of bottles, helpfully laid out in a beer menu. January ‘sale’ on, so I decided to be prudent and ordered a cheapo for £3.50, a 9% Noel which wasn’t bad. Ate here and the cheese, ham and sourdough was pretty decent. Overall, worth taking a look in here.
