Good Beer Guide 2020 Entry.

Impressive town house - looks like it should have been a solicitors. Some patio tables out the front and then a big room to the left with a bar tuckes away at the far end.

TV on with sports on low volume.

Tables were cordoned off with black and yellow tape but still felt rather close together.

Four ales - detailed on a chalk board and my Pavilion Pale Ale from Bank Top Brewery was in fine condition.

The Black Tap is a bit of a gem in my opinion. Good selection of drinks with Ossett Ernest, Lacons Legacy, Backyard Blonde and Fixed Wheel Black Cyclone. Also a good selection of ciders, lagers and spirits if that's your thing. We tried all 4 ales and they were all excellent. Add that to a nice open fire and friendly service and you'll struggle to find a better pub in Redditch. Well worth a visit.

The Black Tap is situated in a nice part of Redditch in an old and nice looking building.
Once inside there is a small oblong shaped room to the left which is bare boarded, the bar is in this room and to the rear, the seating is normal tables and chairs and one tall table and stools, there is a drinking shelf to the right with tall stools.
There is a separate room to the right which has a darts board in it.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Tap Flower Power, which went down well, the other real ales noted were Black Tap Morning Glory,Black Tap Not Lager a d a beer called Lord Nelson.
This is not really my sort of pub,but the drink i had was nice.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Black Tap

One of a row of fine old buildings opposite the parish church, and thankfully not bulldozed during the 'new town' expansion, this is now the Black Tap brewery tap. The lounge-type room housing the bar is on one side of the central corridor, although the furniture and decor is pretty basic, and another room for hire (not visited) is signed on the other. It does, however, also have some wooden picnic tables out on the front patio. Four handpumps on the counter, dispensing two of their own brews - Flower Power (£3.25) and Citra - plus Hobgoblin and Ambridge Piddle in the Hole as guests.

At The Black Tap we aim to provide the finest real ales and craft beers, most of which we brew ourselves on site. We have created a welcoming, warm and friendly atmosphere of an old school traditional pub combined with a contemporary edge. Live music is performed at weekends and regular events populate our yearly calendar such as beer and food festivals. We have a simple menu of traditional pub grub and welcome people from a wide area who want to drink our brews in this unique environment. We are situated right in the heart of of the picturesque Church Green opposite the bandstand and fountain. Our large frontage is the ideal spot to sit and drink a beer with the lovely views of our beautiful spot. There are various car parks around the town including at the rear by the college only two minutes walk away. All are welcome, and the team looking forward to seeing you soon - the owner :)
