Al Bundy left this review about The Wave Bar

This is the public bar part of the Adelphi Hotel. Popular with the older generation of an afternoon due to its low prices. Open plan with a central servery. Raised areas surround the bar. Pool tables are to the rear. The beer prices go up around 7.00 midweek which is when most people seem to disappear. There was a bloke standing at the bar who looked like Len Ganley. Its not too bad a place. No real ale.

The Wave bar is a large opened out pub that is latched on to the left hand side of the Adelphi Hotel. It is open to the general public and has it's entrance on Copperas Hill and is quite separate from the Hotel part. There is a large square island bar in the centre with plenty of dark wooded furniture around plus plenty of raised areas. Stopped next door in the Hotel and frequented this place on numerous occasions taking advantage of the MILD at 1.70 a pint
