Fully agree with previous reviewer, I had a similar experience re chatting with the friendly owner. Keg-only, but you come here for the atmosphere, not the ale. A timewarp, best described on the PUB HERITAGE website. All fans of pub heritage should come here, but beware the limited opening times!

The bar is the smallest public bar in Scotland. The sign above the door reads J Dobie Licensee'. The Dobie family - present owner and publican, Ronnie - is said to be the longest-serving family licensees in Fife. The owner Ronnie (Dobie) was sitting outside the pub soaking up the evening sunshine when I arrived. He joined myself inside the pub and we had a good chinwag about pubs and the world. This is a pub with a nationally important historic interior. This pub is not to be missed. Check out for a very good overview of this pub - http://pubheritage.camra.org.uk/pubs/historic-pub-interior-entry.asp?NatPubID=FIF/77&Detail=full.
