David Ross left this review about The Laughing Buddha Bar and Restaurant

As the name suggests, the bar here is part of a larger complex which includes a Chinese Restaurant, although they are in separate sections of the building and accessed by different doors. The food odours don't even permeate into the bar, which is a large, square room with a pool table in one corner and a desk set up for a DJ in the other. It is, unfortunately, very run down looking and badly in need of refurbishment, which could also be said of most of the customers on the late Friday afternoon I called in. Apparently, the clientele changes at night into a much younger crowd and it can then get rather rowdy. It's suitably inexpensive, with Tennent's lager selling at £2.90 a pint and Guinness, Tennent's 60 Shilling and Strongbow cider also on draught. A video jukebox playing 60s and 70s pop music provided some welcome entertainment but, all in all, this is an unattractive place with little to recommend it. I can't, of course, comment on the Chinese restaurant as I wasn't in it.
