Well described by JAQPTIO below, this is a convenient and relatively pleasant place to sit and enjoy a pause before re-entering the bustle. The staff were rather robotic and devoid of character. There were 5 meantime beers dispensed under pressure, not over-chilled but definitely over-priced. Given the proximity to both the Hole and the Tap, I don’t think I’ll pay the extra in future.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Canteen
Smart modern restaurant and bar underneath the rear part of the Royal Festival Hall and beside the Southbank market. Inside tables set aside for dining, but there some tall stools at the counter and a selection of functional wooden benches outside under large umbrellas for those just having a drink. Four Meantime beers from a total of seven keg taps: London Pale, Pilsner Lager, Wheat Beer and the 'Short List' Fool's Gold (£5.25).
