David Ross left this review about The White Elephant

In view of the dearth of pubs in what was once a completely “dry” area of Glasgow, the name hardly seems appropriate. The very useful Elephant is a commodious, modern, split level lounge, with half of the tables set for dining and the other half for drinking. Seating consists of a mix of sofas, seats around tables and bar stools at the counter and around pillars. There is a beer garden at the side which I didn’t visit as it was raining heavily and a function suite which can be hired free of charge. The glass ornaments, including inevitable elephants, on low shelving suggest that they don’t anticipate much unrest in this affluent area of the city. On draught are Tennent’s lager (at £3.20 a pint), Sagres (Portuguese lager), Birra Moretti (Italian lager), Heineken, John Smith’s, Guinness and Strongbow cider. There is also one real ale font which wasn’t in use. Overall, it’s all very pleasant and comfortable, but rather characterless.
