We've visited here several times since my original review and the welcome has always been friendly and the beer excellent. Upped bu a couple of points for being consistently good.

We called in here twice on our recent visit to Scarborough. On our first vist the place was packed, it doesn't take many, and the welcome was cool to say the least, totally in contrast to the temperature of the pub which was steaming hot. We got our drinks and went to sit outside. We decided to give it another chance the following day and the place was totally different. Just 3 people in the pub and a chatty barman behind the bar. We settled down for a short session and got talking to the locals, who were friendly, about all things beery & pubby. We'd intended to call in for one but I ended up having a pint followed by a couple of halves of the stronger beers on the bar. So, a mixed bag overall, but I still liked it.

One smallish room with bar to the rear. Five hand pumps with some decent ales. Unfortunately my stomach was off so I just had a (can) of Coke.

With the total of micropubs now approaching 450 and seemingly increasing almost daily this one is something of a veteran judging by the GBG stickers on the door. I made two visits here, at around 14:00 on the Tuesday afternoon and just after midday opening on the Thursday for a lengthier look. On both occasions it was noticeable how this one had a good steady trade of regulars plus the odd passing trade.
As described below it's a roughly square room with all low furnishings apart from a few bar stools.
It's a proper micropub, the only minor guideline digression being a radio on behind the bar probably for the benefit of the bar staff. Unlike many newer micropubs there was no sign of any specialist spirits or keg products.
On the Tuesday there were five beers on from the six hand pumps, only one of which was still going on the Thursday. Compare that to the JDW which had the same nine guest beers on throughout my three day stay! The one I didn't try was the Kelham Island Aviator. In all over the two afternoons I had seven different beers here, all in excellent nick and all at a discounted £3.20. I also tried a couple of ciders before getting the train back which were a similar price and also excellent.
If I visited Scarborough again I would happily return here and do it all again!

Corner micro pub close to the station, one room with a small outside area to the street. Standard micro pub interior and well kept beers. Worth a visit.

A single room micro pub on a corner location just at the Falsgrave Road end of Eastborough a short walk from the Railway station. The interior is in green and white tongue & groove with an old board floor, the counter is across the back wall, not that you would miss it. There are five handpumps and naturally no keg etc, there are some ciders sold from boxes out the back. Furnishing consists of five traditional tables with benches and stools. The beers are excellent as they usually are in micro-pubs and the conversation and banter flows, again just as normal for micropubs.
