Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lanes

Quite large for a micro-pub, but very much of that ilk, with the corner entrance leading to a square seating / standing area. Mix of furniture and decor based on pump clips and local Camra awards. No counter, with everything served on gravity from the rear cool room. Five real ales on offer, including an excellent Nineteen 17 from the local Hop Fuzz Brewery (£3.20), plus 14 draught ciders. With a friendly welcome and an excellent atmosphere, this one is definite worth an effort to visit.

Next up and back to Micro pubs after a stop at the ‘spoons.

5 ales on offer here all served from the cold room and a very impressive range of 25 ciders! A lot of these appeared to be from Kent and the surrounding areas. I went for one of the ales that just happens to be from my favourite current brewery, Newport’s Tiny Rebel. The pint of Juicy @ 4.8% was cracking, with a lovely taste of watermelon as it slipped down.

The Lanes was neigh on packed with a large group of locals taking over a whole area by the door. We chatted merrily with a few other local punters while my pal had them in stiches with he’s opinion of real ale and ciders, he was on good form today.

Out of the 3 micro’s visited in Dover this was by far my favourite and the one I will make a bee line to if returning to the town in the near future.

This one scores 9/10.

A hospitable micropub in a corner location just off the high street. The single room is patrolled by the landlord and landlady, and the feel is of a more traditional pub but without a counter. It's more lively than the other micros nearby but the conviviality feels a little contrived. Four ales on, all in excellent condition. It's a decent pub which is highly recommended for inclusion in a crawl and where I'd be happy to spend an evening's libation.

This micropub seems to have made some effort to make it look more like a small pub rather than a shop full of people drinking beer. Although there is no bar counter the windows and door are pub like and the floor is carpeted. Furnishings are mixed with mostly low tables and stools plus a couple of sofas.
It doesn't transgress any of the micropub guidelines with no spirits, only local produce and no TVs or amplified music. Lined glasses are also used. The owners were very friendly and chatty.
Five beers were available on my visit, four from Kent and one from Sussex. They were Hop Fuzz Tomahawk & Yellow Zinger, Downland Oatmeal Stout, Pig & Porter Ashburnham Pale and Goody's Genesis. I went for the Tomahawk (£3.10) which was in excellent condition. They also do a large range of Kent ciders including the entire range from Dudda's. I thought this was an excellent micropub and my favourite of the three visited in Dover. It's GBG 2017 listed.
