Rather odd seating arrangement - with very high bench seating along both sides. You feel like you are up before the jury on entry. The reason? So those seating can look in the eyes of those standing.

For a micro, we also liked the fact that proper hand pulls were available and not just gravity fed barrels that other Kent micros were keen on.

A hugely eclectic clientele covering what I would think are most of the social grading system.

Admirably described by the esteemed scribes below, this is a simple East Kent Micro enhanced by the elaborate roof light which harks back to the building's former role as a fish shop.Out back is a partially paved garden, though I was glad to escape the sun on my brief Sunday afternoon visit. An interesting selection of cask beers, together with wines and gins from Kent were on offer. Muggy Porter, from Northdowns, a newish brewery in Thanet, was on good form.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Furlongs

Narrow micro-pub with single-sided bench tables to left and right of the central passageway. The general alehouse appearance is enlivened by various pictures (some fixtures, others for sale). Also has a basic rear garden with a few tables. Six real ales on offer from the handpumps on the notional bar-back, but there were more on a stillage opposite the compact counter when I visited during the annual Hop Festival. I went for the Four Candles Citra Session Pale (£3.20, and in splendid form) but the other offerings were equally interesting.

Some good photos from Rex, so that saves me some waffling on, describing the interior. We popped in here on a Saturday Evening and all the seats were taken, so did a bit of vertical drinking. Five ales and one cider on our visit, I went for the Gadd's West Coast IPA and I was also badgered in to buying a half of the Saltaire Onyx Black IPA, by the very persuasive barman. The Victorian style glass roof light was a good idea, as it created a lot more natural light internally. The other drinkers on our visit tended to keep themselves to themselves, so no interaction there, letting down the original micro pub ethos.

This is a newly opened micropub, about which there's little to add to ETA's review. Essentially it's small (as a micropub has to be) but perfectly formed. My companion and I had pints of Canterbury Ales Manderina Barbara, but they also had on three other ales, plus a draft cider, which can be seen in the uploaded photo. This is actually quite good by micropub standards. As I recall pints were in the region of £3.20 or so.

The only real minus for me was the absence of any traditional furnishings. Indeed there were no furnishings at which drinkers could face each other; it's all side by side here. Nonetheless, this place is definitely worth a punt if you're in Faversham.

This former small high street fishmonger’s opened as a micro in December 2014. It consists of a single small room, decorated and furnished in untreated wood, Spartan wooden seating arrangements, with no luxuries apart from WiFi. It is dog-friendly. There is no Shepherd and Neame on offer, which makes it a rare gem in Faversham. There were 4 ales on handpumps, alongside a selection of Kentish wine. I had a pint of Canterbury Ales’s Merchant, a mild stout which was in absolutely perfect condition, a beautiful pint even to one who doesn’t normally drink stout. The barman was knowledgeable and friendly, but sadly I got cornered by CAMRA’s Duty Bore so had to drink more Merchant to transcend the experience. A truly excellent pub, which offers a CAMRA discount, to which I shall certainly return.
