ROB Camra left this review about Hophouse

This is a small, one roomed lounge bar which despite the name only had Thwaites Wainwright on handpump. Wood panelling to the left and some interesting wooden seating to the right. Inndividual seats with a dividing armrest between them similar to The Deansgate & Scuttlers in Manchester. There's a deli counter serving cheese & meat platters. It has the same winelist as The Steamhouse, so I'm guessing they're under the same ownership. My pint of Wainwright was in decent nick and it's a pleasant enough place, but the derisory beer selection would put be off calling again.
