Old Boots left this review about The Borough Arms

A long, thin room typical of shop conversions into micro-pubs. Both sides are lined with wooden bench seats and tables with chairs on the outer face. The counter is at the far end down a short flight of stairs. There are four pulls of small localish, breweries, Great Heck, Captain Oates, Tollgate and Fat Cat on this occasion, all in good nick, three ciders are also available. The place is enlivened by some old photos but the size and shape of the room is against it and the atmosphere is a bit Eastern bloc however the beer's good and you should support the micro pub movement so give it a go. It's close to the station as well.

There was a pub called the Borough Arms at the other end of the same block - the new incarnation is a micro pub which is situated in what was once a Greek restaurant called Mykonos. For a "micro pub" this is quite big, with the bar at the back of a lengthy but comparatively narrow room, which has a slight change in level part way back, so that the approaching drinker looks down on the bar.

There are four real ales available on hand pumps, plus two real ciders. Basic pub furniture lines the walls, including a rather nice settle. There are no soft furnishings, so the place can get a little noisy when a few people are all talking at once. The four beers at the time of my visit were from Tollgate, Springhead, Bath and North Yorkshire, of which I tried three and they were all in good condition and priced at around £3 a pint.
