Situated in a former bank, this micropub does not open until 3 or 4pm each day and is in fact closed on a Monday and Tuesday. I arrived to find the landlady busy taking delivery of beer. She soon came to serve me, as other locals started to arrive too.

Despite being first to be served, it was clear that they pay good attention to the beer quality here. It is obviously pulled through before the first customers arrive, as my beer tasted excellent.

Ales on were Hush Weaver Las Vegas, Wilde Child Beyond Redemption, 4T's WSB & Bristol Beer Factory Espresso Martini. The cider was Broadoak Sloe Gin Cider. Craft beers were Fell Knott & Rivington Ripping Clouds. The WSB went off pretty soon after my arrival and was quickly replaced with Bingley Norr Drift.

The pub clearly has some loyal customers. All apart from myself appeared to know the landlady and were quickly discussing holidays. I did notice a bit of a damp smell when I walked in. But this did not detract from the friendly drinking environment. Possibly the best pub that Barrowford has to offer.

A small and welcoming micro that was once a small rural bank. The interior had the original cornice work, cream painted walls. There was a small bar area which was positioned on the right of entrance. The bar counter was solid teak, which had a couple of bar stools that were made up from old tractor seats. Seating was low tables and chairs with a couple of monks benches. Five handpumps with four in use, Redcastle Nobleman, Nobbys Monster Mash, Gun Dog Jack's Spaniels and Titanic Cappuccino Stout. I went for the Nobby's Monster Mash. All the ales were priced at £3 a pint.
