E TA left this review about The Greyhound Inn

A lovely traditional roadside inn, thatched but knowcked through inside to create a larger carpeted bar space, added to which is a large modern extension full of restaurant tables. The car park is huge, there is a good sized garden which sadly lacks character but is functional for grockle families, having benches, tables and a children's play area with adventure playground accessories. Inside, it is much more pleasant, welcoming and comfortable, the main bar having exposed ships' timbers as beams, stained glass dividing screens, leaded bow windows and open fire. The atmosphere is convivial and the staff are friendly and engaging. They do B&B which is a good standard of accommodation, though I suspect it won't be too restful if a coach party arrives. Food is freshly cooked and of a decent quality, and they offer teas and snacks during non bar hours. The clients are a mix of locals, passers-by and business travellers, all very civilised and sensible. The choice of ale was limited – only Otter and Doombar – but the beer was in very good condition and enjoyed in comfortable surroundings. A very good place to break your journey on the way to/from the South West.

A large thatched roadside pub on the old A30, now bypassed, with extensive grounds to the rear including children's area etc. The very comfortable interior features beams and panelling, with some sofas and bar area at one end of a long room which stretches off to the restaurant area at the other. Beers sampled were Otter Bitter and Ringwood Boondoggle and very drinkable too. Food exceptional and highly recommended. All in all, a very good pub.
