E TA left this review about Bocabar

This modern pub, restaurant and entertainment venue has taken over the ground floor of a former tannery, alongside an arts and culture centre. The car par is shared, and the building frontage is (as the address suggests), red brick. At the back is a surprisingly pleasant terraced garden, with a covered patio at the top (non-smoking) and a nice rural view, the aspect hiding the main road from view but not hearing. The single long rectangular bar and dining open and airy, with a servery at one end. They old regular live music, cocktail evenings and other entertainment events and the clientele is surprisingly diverse. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. The food is new-wave restaurant style, sort of Holland and Barrett meets Californian Cliché, and it’s not particularly cheap – about 30% above average – but to be fair it has one won awards and the chef has a good reputation. They also do cooked breakfasts in the morning. Beer is expensive too. There was only one ale on, Sunshine Reggae from Fine Tuned, and a craft beer, Pogo. There is a range of megakeg beers and ciders. A pleasant place to spend a few hours and have something different for lunch.
