Motel apparently aimed mainly at coach party trade, so huge barn of a place with no atmosphere. No real ale. No point unless you are desperate for somewhere to stay.

With more than 100 rooms available at reasonable prices, this is the best accommodation option in Aberfoyle, despite being situated about a quarter of a mile away from the centre. The bar is a spacious, rectangular, barn like affair with the serving area in one corner, a pool table in the other and a single TV screen in the middle. It’s bright and airy, with large windows and lots of seating, including some in a covered patio outside. There is a separate restaurant through a connecting door at the rear, although food is also served in the bar. Tennent’s lager sells at £3.20 a pint and Stella Artois, Belhaven Best and Guinness are also on tap. Although the atmosphere isn’t particularly pub-like, this is the best place to end your night’s drinking if you’re a resident, as it’ll save you the walk along the disused railway path from the village centre in the dark.
