Will Larter left this review about The Red Lion

Claimed on the signs to be the "oldest pub in Powys", the Red Lion sits beside the road opposite the church of St Afan. Having cycled here I can say I was well in need of a beer, and the Double Dragon Export 4.7% (from Felinfoel) hit the spot. The other beer was Wadworth 6X, which was a long way from home. The door at the right hand end of the building gives admittance to the fairly basic bar area, with a larger dining room to the left and another to the rear. People were stopping for lunch, but I've no way of knowing if they were locals or holiday makers. This is very beautiful countryside, but the undulating nature of the road and the strong wind made it murder on a bike and I was looking forward to having the wind behind me on the way back to Llandrindod Wells. I'd call again if in the area with a different means of transport, but I'm buggered if I'm climbing those hills again; especially the one that said 10% on the sign - I want words with whoever's idea of a joke that was.
