Aqualung . left this review about The Captain James Lang (JD Wetherspoon)

This building is one of the more obvious former Woolworths that can be wondered at all over the UK.
Inside it's a long narrow room with some booths on the left followed by the bar and a slightly wider area at the rear where some doors lead to a patio. For a reason I couldn't discover there are four large drums hanging from the ceiling in the centre of the room.
I counted banks of five and six hand pumps which had one unused, three Abbots, Oakham Citra & Green Devil doubled & JHB and Kelburn Jaguar doubled. I went for the Green Devil (£2.69) which sadly wasn't that clear. The standard guest price here is £1.79 which was the price of the Oakham Citra.
This one is GBG 2017 listed which makes it a shame about the cloudy Green Devil. I didn't have time to try another pint which is a shame as with a completely non-standard ale selection I suspect this may be better than I found it to be.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Captain James Lang (JD Wetherspoon)

Large converted shop (formerly a branch of Woolworths), resulting in a long rectangular bar which is quite gloomy away from the windows at each end, although the relatively light decor helps a bit. Mix of furniture, including small high tables and some booths, and a sizeable patio beer garden to the rear. Fair selection of real ales from seven of 12 handpumps, but with the only local beer being Bravehop from Loch Lomond in addition to Woodforde's Simcoe, Sharp's Atlantic and the usual mainstream offerings.
