Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Market Ale House

Popular micro-pub, busy straight after opening at 14:00 on a Wednesday afternoon. Relatively plain, yet attractive, semi-modern interior with the six high, small, wooden tables supplemented by some patio furniture out on the wide front pavement. Good selection of five real ales in a variety of styles from the six handpumps, and after some dithering I went for the Type of Way red ale from Rivington (£3.70).

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Market Ale House

This appears to be Leyland's original and also last remaining micropub. Spread over 2 floors, it was busy on my late Saturday evening visit and I was requested to sit outside in the cold.

The 5 real ales here were Mallinson's Wappy Nick, Northern Monk Eternal, Three Castles Stoned, Two By Two Session IPA & Hophurst Snuggle. Ciders were Weston's Old Rosie & Lilley's Mango Cider, Rhubarb Cider & Apple & Blackberry Cider.

My half of Snuggle was a nice enough mild, which went down easily given I didn't want to stick around for too long in the cold.

Decent place, but a bit too popular to allow for a relaxing drink in these times.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Market Ale House

It’s more of a beer cafe than a pub, including the very cafeteria style tables outside. However, it is a friendly little place with pleasant young staff and clientele. 6 real ales on today. Obviously the best option in Leyland despite my reservations.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Market Ale House

This micro ticked all the boxes, the young barman was friendly and chatty as were the fellow drinkers on our visit. The beer choice was also well sourced and another plus was it's position next door to an excellent bakery. So a good few of the drinkers were bringing in hot pies or sandwiches. We got two meat and potato pies for £3.50 and they went very well with a pint of Brewsmith pale ale. I also tried the Kirkstall & Yeastie Boys collaboration Ryeteous 6.7% for £3.70 which was excellent. Further beer choice was Beer Monkey Cuddley Toy, Black Edge Hop, Lancaster Williamette, Vocation Winter Stout and Outstanding Pilsner.

This is a fairly standard micropub consisting of a rectangular room with just tall tables, chairs and a few bar stools. The small bar has six hand pumps and they also do a keg Pilsner from the Outstanding brewery. Several ciders were available and wines plus the odd spirit. The six beers available were Pennine Jacob's Ladder, Darkwave Odyssey, Howard Town Shining Clough, Beer Nouveau Medlock, Lancaster Sorachi and Dark Star Creme Brulee. I had time for a few here so went for the Darkwave Odyssey (£2.90), Howard Town Shining Clough (£3.00) and the Dark Star Creme Brulee (£3.10) all of which were excellent.
This is another fine micropub, it's GBG 2017 listed.

A micropub on the main road next to Leyland market. 7 real ales available. A small bar and drinking area greet you as you enter. A sign says "No Mobile Phones". Ha, just try it matey.
