Had a great night, bands over the weekend and a 1 am bar great atmosphere with loads of customers getting up for a dance.
The have a pool table, sky sports and other nights during the week; open mic night and a quiz night apparently. Loads of cask ales and lagers to choose from. We can't wait to go again.

A member if Atwills 'Cock and Whatever' pubs. A vast improvement on it previous incarnation as The Royal with a not to shabby selection of real ales.

Beer was still uniformly priced at £2.40 a pint when I was here on Easter Monday. I had a couple of beers from local Weetwood Ales, and another from Cheshire Brew Brothers, also presumably not far off; all were in very good condition. Beers are listed on a blackboard just inside the entrance, and there's also a real cider on hand pump. One or two Tranmere Rovers fans had a word about the football when they saw me wearing a Luton Town shirt - sad to see they've since been relegated. Finding an excuse to come back to this pub is going to be pretty difficult without the football.

Cant add much to Real Ale Rays fine review and agree it is a must visit if in the area. The pub had quality furnishings and an interesting selection of 6 real ales mainly from the smaller or micro breweries.Tried a pint of Bad Bill dark MILD from the Winkle Brewing Company which was top notch which was a snip at £2.40p

A 20 min walk from Birkenhead Central and well worth it. The pub used to be called the Royal Oak and is now owned by the Atwill pubs company. The pub consists of a central bar, with a comfortable lounge area on the right with various banquette seating sections. The lounge has lots of black and white photos adorning the walls, depicting the Wirrals back history.
There were various brass pot and pans and various vessels, around the walls and ceiling. The bar counter has a new copper top counter. The left hand side room is the traditional bar side with a pool table There were seven well kept ales on handpump. We went for the Brimstage Sandpiper Light Ale, Conwy Brewery Clogwyn Gold and Ramport. The staff were friendly and helpful and the regulars were friendly and chatty. The pub opens at 12 noon daily.
