Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bobbing John (JD Wetherspoon)

Named in memory of the Patons and Baldwins cotton mills, this is a modern 'spoons housed in the quite grand former Alloa Co-operative Society building dating from 1895. Relatively light inside due to the enlarged front windows, and there is also a raised patio beer garden at the rear. Very disappointing selection from the 12 handpumps: just Doom Bar, Deuchars IPA, Abbot and two from Harviestoun - Schiehallion and Bitter & Twisted (£1.69) available from the first bank. Unusually, the second bank had six 'clips' on to advertise events, Facebook and TripAdvisor. Mind you, I suspect that there is very little real ale elsewhere in town...

Aqualung . left this review about The Bobbing John (JD Wetherspoon)

This is a fairly typical shop conversion consisting of a rectangular room with a glass frontage so it isn't too dark.
The bar has two banks of six hand pumps which on my visit had six devoted to festival ciders and the rest had Kelburn Cart Noir & Cart Blanche, the Scots JDW Trio Of Doom and Black Wolf Rok IPA. I went for the Rok IPA & the Cart Blanche both at the very pleasing price of £1.69 a pint and both in good nick. Given that JDWs charging under £2.00 for a standard guest are rare after the three price increases over the last year this one was a real result especially as at 5.0% ABV the Cart Blanche would be charged as a premium guest in most places. I noticed that the food prices here are not as cheap as the beer.
I thought this was a decent Spoons and not just because of the cheap prices.
