E TA left this review about Crown Inn

A stone-built village pub with a large walled car park, small garden and outside paved terrace with lots of outside seating. There is also a small children’s play area with fairly dated apparatus. Inside, the bars have been opened out to make an open plan single drinking area, L-shaped, with a slightly more private area at one end. Stone walls and floors combine with stone hearths to make it feel cosy and homely, although the TV showing football and an array of English flags detracted from that a bit. The locals were a loud bunch but friendly nonetheless, while the staff were welcoming and helpful. There were several wooden chairs which had been formed from waggon wheels. Four handpumps on the bar, to unclipped, one clipped Butcombe Original though this was off, and Pride remaining as the only ale choice. Sadly the Pride was not in great condition, which detracted from what was otherwise an enjoyable visit. I’ll give it another try when next passing.
