Old Boots left this review about Major Tom's Social

An exciting new bar housed in a former antiques emporium, downstairs still houses a retro clothing store while upstairs has been refreshed with an easy going and laid back bar, although one corner is still devoted to a modern antiques shop. It describes itself as "..a new bar bringing Craft beer, Real Ale, Pizza, Music, Art Exhibitions, Fun & Weirdness to the good people of Harrogate. We are a youth club for grown ups ". Furnishing is eclectic to say the least some is soft sofas but the majority is built for speed not comfort. The counter and bar-back are made of sterling board with coloured glass blocks in the counter, four handpumps dispense a changing variety of ales and there are interesting bottles from the UK, US and Europe. Beers coming soon are displayed on some white tiles at the end of the counter while the bottle choice is chalked up on an old school rotating blackboard on the wall. The decor is simple. there are a few 45s stuck on a pillar to read while you get served and some music related pictures which are for sale, live music will play a big part in the bars life. The beer quality was great and the staff young and very enthusiastic. In short quite a welcome change from Harrogate's usually staid pubs.
