David Ross left this review about Argyll Arms Hotel

The only pub in the small village of Southend at the tip of the Kintyre peninsula and one end of the Kintyre Way Long Distance Footpath, the Argyll Arms offers accommodation, a restaurant and a public bar. The bar has a village pub atmosphere and the half dozen locals drinking there seemed surprised to see a stranger in town. It has a juke box, pool table, dart board, games machines and a single TV. A pint of Belhaven Best cost me £3.10 and Tennent’s lager, Stella Artois, Guinness and Strongbow cider are also on draught. It’s nothing special, but if you’re visiting the Mull of Kintyre and feel like a drink, you’ll probably end up here as the nearest other pubs are about 8 miles away in Campbeltown.
