This is effectively a small square box with part of the floor area raised. There was a live band setting up on my Friday evening visit and judging by the practice, they were going to be very loud in this small space. Three handpumps on the bar, but only two on Crouch End Fox's Nob & Dow Bridge Legion. The Legion was in good nick and the locals were friendly, but there were already 2 bouncers outside at 8 p.m. so I'm guessing it may get busier and more raucous later on.

A new bar which opened in May this year and is situated opposite the Rupert Brooke. The bar is bright and modern and consists of a small bar servery on the right. The room near the entrance is used for live music, also there was a further lounge area from this. There was an array of photos of bands and two particularly interesting tube maps. Three hand pumps in use offering Sharps Doombar, Dow Bridge Acris and Tyneside Tipple, we went for the Tyneside. Prices were reasonable.
