Paul McScotty left this review about The Storm Queen

Now called the Grain Hopper (formerly the “Storm Queen”) – As nice as the Grain Hopper looks from the outside with its crisp clean black frontage and 2 large carriage style lamps lighting the entrance, it is more impressive once you step inside. A very nice looking, clean and traditional (yet trendy) looking bar with wooden floors, exposed brick walls and subdued lighting (standard lamps , candles on tables and industrial type lighting). The bar is on the left as you enter and is impressive looking with its 3 large chandelier effect lights made up of wine glasses. The bar itself is well stocked with spirits and wines and some nice (but standard) beers on tap ( Stella, Tennent’s, Innes & Gunn, Joker IPA, Bellhaven, Guinness etc). A Vodka (Smirnoff) and Coke and Gin (Tanqueray) and cranberry costing only £5 (I also had a very nice pint of Bellhaven for £3:30). There is ample seating available with some nice leather chairs, sofas and tables, cosy booth areas and ample seating at the bar for the barflies. At the back (up a few stairs) is a nice area for events and food (we didn’t eat on our visit but the food looked good pizzas etc) and the toilets (clean and tidy). The bar staff were really very friendly and served us promptly, clientele were mixed and also seemed a pretty friendly bunch. There is also free Wi-fi and live music - Well worth a visit.
