Quinno _ left this review about Traveller's Friend

A very weird place, everywhere rigidly set for dining over two huge characterless rooms. The heating and lighting were both turned off. A slightly odd whiff lingered in the air. Interior and furniture reminded me of a caravan parks restaurant offering from the mid-90’s (decorated in the mid-80’s). Two ales, Youngs, Gold and Special. Almost four quid for a mediocre half and lemonade, served in a dishwasher-pitted Fosters glass. Décor consisted of numerous equine and jockey prints. Basic food offered at rather expensive prices given what was listed (in the other room, half a mile away, were a group of geriatrics eating). Visit topped off by the appearance of three youths from the bowels of the pub, one of whom was dressed in her PJs and bare footed; they promptly tucked into breakfast in the pub with the landlady asking/demanding to know if the male of the party wanted orange juice. Pity him if he was the boyfriend and PJ girl was the daughter. A pub it is not and as an eatery I can’t exactly figure it out either.
