Went over to Glasgow for a bowling weekend, we went out for a few jars. After being treated very rudely at Lauders Pub we went down the street to the Renfield.
A great night's craic with the karaoke and the friendly staff and customers. We went back the next day, it is a no nonsense bar that shows off the best of Scottish hospitality.
I shall be back!

Popped into the Renfield for a quick drink (mainly to get dry after a sudden bout of rain - well it is Springtime in Glasgow). I recalled this pub as being under new management around 2009 - 2010 (the folk that owned Ross')and it felt then that improvements were being made... sadly on this visit I found it very tatty and run down -it was also a bit smelly (folk taking in food from the carry outs nearby) the carpers were very threadbare (and looked dirty) lighting was dark, folk were blocking the enterance smoking and worse the drinks selection was not great (poor selection of vodka - no Smirnoff, Glens etc). The Renfield has and always will be a traditional drinking pub with a nice city centre location but on this visit its gone downhill since the previous owners left - not the worst pub of its type, but with a large selection of much better similar pubs in the area, I wont be back.
