David Ross left this review about The Tipsy Laird

Together with the Star Hotel further along the High Street, this is one of the best drinking places in Kingussie. The bunkhouse which adjoins, and is operated by, the pub attracts visitors from overseas and elsewhere in the U.K. and gives it a cosmopolitan air which the Star lacks. The Tipsy Laird is also popular with villagers though and seems to appeal to the younger and more fashionable end of the local market. Staff wearing “Tipsy Team” t-shirts and framed cartoon drawings of drunk landowners playing golf and shooting themselves in the foot continue the theme of the pub name. A pint of Guinness cost me £3.40 and Belhaven Best, Tennent’s, Stella Artois and Carlsberg lagers and Summersby cider are also on draught. Two locally brewed real ales, White Lady and Stag, are on hand pump. Bar meals are served. All things considered, this is probably the most appealing pub for visitors to the village.
