Quinno _ left this review about Portland Arms

The relatively plain exterior gives way to an Art Deco gem inside, with a superb curved central bar and ceiling, alongside a ‘family department’. Look out for 2/3rd-height wood-veneer panelling on all walls, period glazing and sunburst decor. Ambience somewhat spoiled by the presence of three big TVs showing 2x horse racing and footy. A Celtic pub due to its location and relative proximity to Parkhead. Standard Scottish keg range at the bar so a Tennants had to do. Almost 100% Scottish sausage in attendance, the only ladies in situ aside from my missus were a pair of professional barmaids who, whilst initially a bit standoffish, warmed-up a bit when I mentioned the reasons for our visit. With two CAMRA NI pubs in close proximity, it’s worth the bus trip out.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Portland Arms

Unspoilt single-storey pub dating from the 1930s with the island bar having a simple Art Deco look. There is a door on each side of the entrance but they lead to the opposite sides of the same servery, with the former off-sales hatch in between. 2/3rd-height wood-veneer panelling on all walls but little else in the way of decoration. However, there are also separate snugs in each of the far corners. No real ale, unfortunately, so settled for the Tennent's Special 70/- (£3.00). However, the Camra national inventory interior makes this well worth a visit as there almost nothing quite like it elsewhere in the UK.
