A quick revisit found three ales on, I went for the Church End Goats Milk (very good) and Palmers 200 (poor). A shame the Palmers was poor, as I do quite like this place as a pub but that is only one ale out of three I've had here that's been genuinely good quality so the score drops to reflect that.

Quirky canal-side pub in the old wharf buildings. Two storeys and unusually the bar is on the upper (enter via an external side staircase!) with a bistro downstairs as well as a canal-view beer garden. Cosy here with pub carpet, red and white painted brick walls and a centrepiece cast iron clock above the bar. Three ales on; Church End Foxes Hat, Flacks Double Drop, Plain Inndulgence – the latter of which was ostensibly fine, if a little warm and pump-tired. Football on the TV and a fish tank at the bar. Got a bit of chat from the barman (licensee?) and it felt like a good place to imbibe. Wouldn’t mind doing this one again. Rated 6.5

I thought this was a very worthwhile stop for a beer, right next to the canal with friendly and knowledgeable service and well kept real ale. There are good views from the upstairs bar,and a decent selection of pump clips indicating a changing list of ales. With a quiz night and a flatscreen (off on our Tuesday night visit),there is a true pub atmosphere up here and there is a clear distinction with the bistro down stairs.Good beer garden as well,if navigating the K&A and not keen on a long walk to Pewsey, this place delivers a good deal.

The Waterfront is based in a traditional canalside building on the Kennet and Avon with the pub area upstairs on the first floor while the ground floor houses a bistro. There's also a decent sized garden overlooking the canal.
Once up the stairs, the bar is on the back wall of an open plan room which probably belies the buildings original use. As a wharf or warehouse I'd guess. There are lovely views over the canal and to the countryside beyond which more than compensate for the unremarkable but comfortable bar area.
Service here is friendly and welcoming with questions regarding which beers were coming on next and when fielded with good humour.
Just two beers on when we visited: Hop Back Yakima Blonde and Palmers Dorset Gold. The Yakima Blonde was good and was then swapped, having run out, for Groovy Mover from the same brewery. Again very good and the governor takes obvious pride in the quality of his ale.
Well worth a visit for the welcome, the views and the beer.
