Alan Winfield left this review about Sir Frederick Roberts

The Sir Frederick Roberts was a small corner pub that was situated in the middle of Normanton.
Once inside there was a smallish bar to the front which had a bench seat and stools, there was a seperate room to the rear.
We went in this pub on quite a few occasions and always had a drink in the front room, this was to watch the old West Indian guys play dominoes, this was a sight to be seen, when they banged their dominoes down on the tables it was deafening.
The pub was an Ansells tied house with keg Ansells bitter on the bar.
Sadly this pub closed down after a drugs raid and closed its doors in 1991,the pub was finally pulled down in the late 90s,there is now nothing on its site.
What a waste,we had some good times in this pub.
