Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Buffer Stops
Local award-winning station pub at the East Lancashire Railway terminus. As expected, the compact square bar was busy during the autumn steam gala weekend but the staff were attentive and efficient. Five real ales - including the Beer Monkey Blonde (£2.65, less 20p Camra discount) - and two ciders from the two banks of four handpumps.

Visited a week ago, Thursday afternoon / early evening. Six cask pumps of which four were on. Beltie by Northwern Whisper, Brewsmith Brown Ale, Brewsmith Mosaic and Sputnik by North Brewing Co all available on cask. My half of Beltie was rather pleasant and a very reasonable £1.45. There were a further six keg options, presumably all were on, and looking at the chalk board most were around £3 a pint with just one being more expensive at £4.50 a pint. An unusual interesting place, definitely worth a visit.

A nice and novel pub. As noted it has various rooms dotted around the station but the most important one is the small bar one. 6 handpumps with beers from Outstanding, Big Clock, Bree Biddies, Rossendale and a Welsh one. You can sit on the platform to have a drink.

An unusual pub based in 3 rooms around Rawtenstall station. The bar is in the old station cafe and further seating is available in the old waiting room and in another station building that states that it is a family room. You can also sit on benches on the station platform during good weather. The bar is very small and neat although the clientele were a bit rough and ready at 3 on a Friday. Six handpumps on the bar one of which is devoted to real cider. My pint of Outstanding Piston Broke was in good nick. It's an interesting pub and rail buffs will love it.
