This is not really a pub in the traditional sense, but more of a trendy wine bar type of establishment. It does nonetheless have an attractive riverside frontage, and there are several tables and chairs overlooking the water to make the most of the outlook. It also has the advantage of getting the most of the evening sun as all the tall buildings are across the river, and being the other side from King Street it is somewhat more peaceful than being in amongst the hordes sat outside of The Llandogger Trow and The Old Duke.

Inside the decor is quite contemporary with cream tiling on the floor and a white and purple colour scheme. Seating wise, it’s divided in to three areas with high tables and stools near the bar counter to the right, lower tables and chairs in the middle and a few bench type sofas down at the end. This is perhaps a slightly cosier area and was dominated by a large picture of Paris’s skyline. There is also a lounge bar upstairs with it’s own small patio area, although this was closed off on our visit and I think may be only used for private hire.

There were a few plasmas along the back wall that were showing the football on a recent Sunday afternoon visit, and this seemed surprisingly popular given the blazing sun outside. There were also a few pot plants dotted around. I didn’t inspect the menu, but from a quick glance it appeared to be a mass produced, laminated affair.

Unfortunately there were no ales on tap, real or otherwise. I did spot a few bottles in the ‘fridge and these included Courage Best and Directors, Hobgoblin and Gem. Ciders faired little better with the only one on tap being Magner’s Golden Draught.
