As we have just had National Bass Day, I thought back to my last pint of Bass, and it was here on 07/09/19 with me on an away day at Holywell Town FC. It was Holywell festival day and the main street was packed. With Wetherspoons rammed and Wine Vaults closed due to roadworks, the Boars Head was the only other Real Ale in town. There was just one handpump clipped and this was Draught Bass. The quality was very acceptable and three pints set me up nicely for the football. The pub is long and narrow with the bar on the right at the far end. It was quite busy this Saturday lunch for the festival. Several singers were performing at an open area to the left of the bar with two lady singers being very good. Probably not a typical lunchtime atmosphere with the festival but I am sure the Royal Order of Bass Drinkers would have appreciated it being the Only Real Ale in town apart from 'spoons! I doubt if my three pints seven months ago would be getting me membership!

Standard pub and is one of those pubs that's just there. Was a bit tatty when I was in but pleasant enough
