Permanently closed - student flats will be built on the site. A shame Alan Winfield never made it here.

December 2016
A comedy joint, a rough new-build (70s?) locals place which sits atop a junction and looks like a gunnery bunker. A disco was in full swing on our Saturday night visit during the biblical deluge of Storm Angus. Detritus everywhere and the seat covers worn down to the quick. No ale ever available so a massive-headed Guinness sufficed. A no student zone and some of the antics undertaken by the well-lubricated locals we witnessed were hilarious. So we stayed, drank lager, got into some situations, and finished the evning dancing with a pair of characters to the theme from Only Fools & Horses. Whilst the place as a pubbing venue was quite atrocious, I kind of warmed to it towards the end of the night (Stockholm Syndrome??). Rated 5
