A recent refurb in here and it still smelt of new. A very modern take on a traditional style within. Bar is to the left as well as a darts runway. Booth seating to the right including inlaid mini TV screens in each for the sport. Perhaps oddly, given the style of refurb, there was a notably more mature clientele than the Crown. Two pumps, just Doom Bar (impressively good nick) on with a Brains clip turned round. Overall it lacks intrinsic charm and beer choice but it’s ostensibly OK. Perhaps it’ll grow into its new suit?
