As described below, this is a single room station bar in a grand Victorian terrace. The front portion of the ground floor knock-though has a splendid brick fireplace with a modern woodburner in, there are a few Chesterfields for comfy seating, there is a DJ desk in the centre, a dim bar with a couple of tables and a covered smoking patio at the back. Staff were friendly, while the locals seemed to be the offspring of Bohemian punks who liked rock and/or roll. The background music was pleasant enough that we stayed longer than we had intended. Ales on were Otter Amber, Powderkeg Speakeasy and Doombar, all in below-average condition and over-priced. I’d probably come back if waiting for a train.

An old and narrow pub handily placed opposite Central Station with a laid-back student sort of vibe. The rather dark interior features some sofas. Ales at time of visit were Otter, Butcombe Best and DB. Cask Marque certified.
