Alan Winfield left this review about Red Lion Hotel

The Red Lion Hotel was a smart looking roadside pub that was on the Middleton to Heywood road,it was quite close to the langley estate.
Once inside i went into a smartish room that looked more like a lounge, this room was carpeted and had comfortable bench seating and chairs.
The pub was a Boddingtons tied house and there was one real ale on the bar, this was Boddingtons bitter which was ok but nothing special.
This was quite a pleasant pub to have a drink in.
Sadly this pub has now been pulled down and there are some ugly looking houses on its site.
I never thought a pub like this would close down, how times have changed.
