A decent looking pub from the outside. There's a small snug as you enter and another larger room straight ahead. They were in the process of putting up Halloween decorations, it was the 7th October FFS. I wouldn't have minded as much if they hadn't been total crap. If you think that black bin bags all over the walls and ceiling is a good look then you need to have a rethink. Two unused handpumps on the bar, so I had to have a half of fizzy stuff. This could be a good pub if you changed the sticky carpet and tidied up the shabby walls, sadly at the moment it's poor.

Traditional old fashioned local just off the main drag in Swinton with no real ale with just the standard beers and lagers on show.Sampled an early snifter around 10-15am and was quite surprised the pub was open so early, but when I noticed every table set up for food realised that it was for the benefit of the large construction force working across the road.

The Football is a decent looking bare brick built pub that is very close to the Weavers Arms.
Once inside i went into a decent sized room that looked quite smart and it had comfortable bench seating,i am not sure if there were any other rooms.
The pub used to be a Tetley tied house and there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Tetley bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beer was Tetley mild.
This was a nice enough pub to have a drink in.
I am pretty sure that this pub it still up and running.
