A former bank converted to a pub/restaurant, occupying a corner building on a busy road. The main entrance takes you straight into the wood-floored bar area, the former bank lobby, which is dominated by a magnificent copper chandelier and has a few chairs and bench seats around. The restaurant area is behind, long and thin and carpeted. They host regular theme nights, quizzes and live acts. There were several tv screens showing different channels of news and sports matches. Food is good value, well presented and using good quality ingredients. Free WiFi is available. A selection of lagers is on offer, and there is a solitary handpump dispensing a Hopback beer which was in very good condition,, but just a little too chilled. The staff were friendly, the clientele mostly peaceful and they offer discount to members of HM Forces. Happy to come back here for a meal and a beer, and I would include in a local crawl.
