Reopened as the Haworth Steam Brewing Co in February 2017 it is now an interesting café / bar with a decent real ale and Gin menu. It’s a fairly small space internally with the interesting design bar facing you as you enter with four ale and one cider pump and then keg taps on a brewing pipe which goes above the pumps. This section has some tables and chairs and then the larger section to the right with its tartan bench seating is mainly used by people dining.
For our visit the breweries own WD Austerity and True Tyke was on alongside two other local Yorkshire brewery brews. Certainly a good addition to the more historical pubs in Haworth.

Previously called Gascoignes and has reopened under the above name. Nice enough place at the top of the Main Street but with no real ale above 4.2% on my visit. I would imagine this will change as the beers alter.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Gascoignes (The Brewhouse)

Comfortable little café / bar with a mix of traditional and modern features. Reasonably-priced menu and very friendly staff. Run by the Gascoigne family, as is the Haworth Steam Brewery which provides all three their regular ales - Hurricane IPA, Rascal and Whitechapel BYB (£2.50)- with a scrumpy on the fourth handpump.

As it says below this is the home of Haworth Steam Brewing although the beers are currently made in Cleckheaton. It's near the top of the famous Bronte tourist town a stones throw from the Parsonage Museum. Definitely a cafe-bar / bistro atmosphere, although looking at Quinno's photos it looks to have changed a little becoming more pubby, it has bench seating round the sides with tables and chairs just in the middle of the flag floor. You also only have to buy food with a drink after 6pm now. The counter is in a back corner with four pumps of the HSB beers including one from sister brewery Whitechapel, one had a Welsh cider on. The keg taps are mounted on a curved piece of pipework running down from the ceiling and there is the end of a vessel marked FV1 in one wall, otherwise fairly standard pub like decor, including a bottle collection on the plate rack. The gents in the corner is a one at a time affair. Needless to say being a brewery tap the beer is in fine condition.

Gascoigne's is the home of the Haworth Steam Brewing Company. (www.haworthsteambrewery.co.uk). They brew thier own beers and sell them through this establishment, which is more of a Bistro than a pub. there is actually a notice on the wall proclaiming that alcohol can only be consumed with food, but we managed to buy a pint and two tasting flights, no questions asked. The beer is superb, we tasted the Mild, Amber and Golden brews, all of which were well kept. The food menu looked good, but we didn't eat. If your in Haworth, make a point of popping in, you can even buy thier wares in bottles.

Had to take a quick snifter in one of the Haworth pubs before re-alighting the Worth Valley Wanderer and decided to do this one based on it being, well, a brewpub (Haworth Steam Brewing Co) and not GBG-listed so assumed it must be fairly new which piqued my interest. The smart black-clad exterior of the building (located most of the way up the hill of Main Street from BR) looks like it used to be a shop of some sort. The frieze depicting the brewing process on the glass frontage is a nice touch. The interior is…brown; done out in wood planking, chocolate leather banquettes, dark wood furniture etc. The brewing element appears to be incorporated into the interior design, with bits of metal piping and the odd tank opening here and there. Three of their own ales were on at the bar (plus a guest) and, sadly, I only had a couple of minutes to slam a half of their mild which was a bit on the flat side but perfectly acceptable taste-wise. Bottles of their beer were also available to take away. They are aiming at taking a slice of the Jane Austen tourist trade that keeps this funny little town sustained with a home-made bistro-style menu advertised to go alongside the beer.

An interesting little place and I’d be happy to pop back in gain should I ever find myself back up in the area.
