Nip and Tipple has a small stage area in the right hand window that faces seating down the right and a bar against the front left that faces seating down the left hand side to the rear. A long central pillar separates the two sides of distressed furniture. The bar counter supports a premium keg range and two handpumps that were drawing Black Iris Brewery’s Little Neipa and Brightside Brewing’s Grafters Honest Bitter. Food is also available, the menu consists mainly of pizza and burgers. The doors open mid-afternoon and open mic nights are held here. The service was polite, but being primarily a student bar this place isn’t aimed at me.

This bar looks and feels like a cafe. There's a small beer patio at the front with views of the busy Upper Chorlton Road. Not much in the way of interesting decoration and most of the seating is dining tables and chairs. There's also a small stage, so music features at some point. At 5 o'clock on a Friday evening there was a free range, feral brat of about 6 years old running around and shrieking, totally ignoring his mother who was sitting down and shrieking back. There were 2 handpumps on the bar, both clipped with Robbies beer although other brewery clips were displayed on the wall behind the bar. My Dizzy Blonde was served by a totally clueless barman who took a good 5 minutes to get it poured to his, and then to my, satisfaction. To be fair it was a decent pint. If I decide to visit the Hillary Step next door next time I'm in Chorlton I won't be bothering to visit here again afterwards.
