Will Larter left this review about Dock Street Market

This is a cafe with the feel of a community centre - a parking place for bikes just inside the door; people drinking coffee while desperately trying to control their kids; big shelving units with books and games for a wet afternoon; a pool table with purple cloth, I kid you not. Did I mention the art works (for sale) on the walls? But despite all these potential downsides, there's a small bar in the corner with two hand pumps, half a dozen fonts and a stock of bottled beers that are worth crossing the river for.

Although most of the furniture belongs to that community centre, there are a few sofas and chairs near the pool table, and a couple of stools near the bar, so that beer drinkers can make themselves at home. When I was here on Sunday lunchtime there was Black Sheep available, plus Ilkley Brewery's very interesting Siberia, a rhubarb flavoured beer at 5.9% which was probably a little strong for my first of the day, but very welcome anyway, and in good condition too.

With the Pin just a couple of paces away and the Adelphi on the corner, there's the basis for an interesting stroll on this street. Well worth crossing the river for!
